Volunteer
El Centro utilizes the skills of both volunteers and student interns to assist with programs, administration, fundraising and events. Volunteers have offered English classes and computer training, program assistance such as the women's project and the legal program. They have assisted with phone banking, outreach to employers and supports, grant writing, event planning and during events and policy work and research.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or student interns with El Centro the first step is to submit and Volunteer Registration Form and your resume to info@centrohumanitario.org.
Current 2012 Volunteer needs
1. ESL Instruction
2. Employment Promotion/Marketing
a. Help workers answer ads on Craigslist
b. Help workers post ads on Craigslist
c. Help workers create resumes/fill out applications etc...
d. Go with workers to flyer in neighborhoods
3. Phone banking- Employer list/Funder list
4. Event Committees- Assist on planning committees/create publications
5. Specialized trainings (experience needed)
a. Interpreters/Translators
b. Job Skill training by vocation
